Law Student & Lifelong Learner

Emerson’s educational path has been shaped by personal passion for the intersecting subjects of public institutions, leadership, and the law:

Michigan State University

Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College

While working full-time, Emerson took classes like Ojibwe I and Tribal Governance & Economic Development to earn an Associate of Arts in Native American Studies: History & Law.

Calvin University

Michigan Political Leadership Program

Emerson’s time at Calvin transformed his interest in politics into a vocation and enabled him to serve as Student Body President.

As a member of the bipartisan cohort, Emerson trained alongside leaders from across Michigan and developed skills to build relationships across party lines to help address growing political polarization.
